Electric Drive Unit Assembly
E-mobility: We manufacture the future
Faster, quieter, more independent: Ongoing development is the hallmark of electric mobility. This also changes the demands for assembly lines for electric motors. Serial and parallel hybrids, range extenders or straight electrical drive trains; compared to the production of combustion engines, there are quite a few differences. Many insights and processes may, however, analogously be applied in e-motor assembly. This is our clear advantage.
We can therefore offer our customers the entire manufacturing process – from coil preassembly to end-of-line testing. Our quality principles apply here as well: All under one roof – as a system integrator we control e-motor assembly and ensure top quality processes and products. In this respect we rely on tried and tested tools and methods which we continue to develop – from manual assembly tools to fully automatic stations for the assembly of complex components.
Focusing on E, from A to Z: Different technologies, similar processes
One example: A fully automatic assembly station completes several production steps in a 5-minute cycle. Magnets are inserted and firmly fixed into the lamination stack . The laminations are then heated and a rotor shaft, cooled with liquid nitrogen, is pressed in. All assembly steps are consistently checked by camera after the magnets are inserted or by force-path monitoring when they are fixed into place and when the tube shaft is pressed in.
