New location to support System Engineering strategy
System Engineering India moves into new facility in Pune. Site becomes Execution Center.
System Engineering opened its site in Pune, India, some 150 kilometers southeast of Mumbai, in April 2011. Under the new site strategy, Pune is to be expanded into an execution center for the Powertrain Solutions and Car Body Solutions operating units. The old location was not suitable for this. The solution: a new location in the Chakan area, 15 kilometers away. In July 2019, the new plant was officially opened in the presence of the System Engineering management and numerous customer representatives.
The new site covers a total area of around 11,500 square meters. Approximately 7,000 m² will be used for production, 2,200 m² for offices and 1,100 m² for warehouse and logistics. Production facilities of several OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers are located in the immediate vicinity of the execution center with its roughly 120 employees.
Vinay Kanitkar, Managing Director of thyssenkrupp System Engineering India Pvt. Ltd.: „We came to India in 2011 – started with a small office with a team of 7 people. Since then we have developed projects for several renowned customers in India. We are now an Execution Center with a team of 120 including many highly competent engineers.
This opens a new chapter in the company's development and enables us to harmonize our technology solutions worldwide and serve our customers in this region faster. We are fit to tackle the challenges before us… and we are looking forward to it.”
